My Grandma loved the 'Forget me Nots' in her garden. I remember that they were small and blue and she always looked for them. Here is my version of the flowers growing amongst the dasies.

On the theme of 'Dasies' again but with blue flowers that remind me of the 'Forget me Nots' in my Grandma's garden. 'Forget me Nots' lie close to the ground but I've let mine grow around the picture.

Sometimes I look at the shapes and colours in one part of a picture and try to reproduce what I see there. Sometimes it creates an abstract design and sometimes another picture in the series. Here are my 'magnified' dasies.

I know it's a lawn growers hate but I like to see the dasies in the grass. Looking from my seat by the lawn, I can only see the bright white and yellow against the green and I have tried to bring this into my painting.

A different personality behind each window. Look and imagine. I try to draw every window with thought to who may live behind them.

I take my inspiration from Holland where people seem to dress their windows with thought and imagination. Here, we seem not to think about it much.

It's wonderful to see the park in late spring with the flowers under the trees; it makes me understand the 'Joys of Spring'. Daffodils in the grass verge with the leaves beginning to bud in the hedges gives me the same pleasure.

Increasingly we see houses built in a new 'eco' style including wood and different cladding. I have always found them interesting. They used to be called 'Modern' or 'Scandanavian'. I just like the texture and broken surfaces.

I love to see wild flowers growing amongst the grass or in a cereal field. Poppies are my favourite. Here you can see a field of flowers. Imagine lying down in a field of flowers, looking as far as you can. All you will see is flowers.

I never know what all the flowers are called when I see them. But, do they need a name? I just love the shapes and the colours.

Sometimes pictures start with a glimpse of a scene and an abstract question. It's an indulgence to let one's imagination loose. I love it!

Is there a second floor or do the floors step up through the house?

The plaster peeled back is an enduring fascination of mine. Look at a grey house and wonder what is underneath the cladding.

Colour, shape, space and flowers; my passion for art and my environment. I am interested in the way they can all work together to create light and balance.

I work with stylised, almost naive drawings, reducing the flowers to shape and colour which is the way I see them. When I look at a rose, I look at the purity of colour, the way the shapes fit together, a drop of water and the smell.

I see a scent...or rather remember the scent as I look. I have it there when I draw.

I can become absolutely absorbed by detail, I might even go as far as to say I have a passion for detail. It takes discipline to create simplicity.

I can still smell my grandpa's greenhouse. He grew seedlings to plant out, fuschias and grapes. It was a treat to be allowed to pop open the fuschia flowers. We used to sit on tall stools with a tray of potting soil. I had to listen carefully because different plants needed different amounts of 'grit' and compost. He had a very sharp knife for the cuttings.

The smell was a mix of all those things and the paraffin heaters too.

Take a grey appartment building and paint it a bright colour.......even better, add some silver and gold and perhaps winter would be shorter.

There is something special about the lime, transluscent colour of young,spring leaves on a tree.

Imagine a still, damp, dull winter's day. The trees stand still and drip when you walk underneath. The damp in the air cuts your breath. How much difference would a bright, colourful building make to your day. For me, a lot.

I drew this on a sunny winter's day with my window open and the warmth around me. It is still a picture of tall, cheerful houses on a calm winter's day but some of the sunshine has worked its way in.
